The Women's March is a national movement to unify and empower everyone who stands for human rights, civil liberties, and social justice for all. We gather in community to find healing and strength through tolerance, civility, and compassion. We welcome all people to join us as we unite locally and nationally. Join us on January 21, 2017.

Time of Rally: 3 - 5PM
Time of March: 5 - 8PM
Starting Location: Civic Center
Ending Location: Justin Herman Plaza
No tickets required. Please register on our Eventbrite page.
MARCH ROUTE DETAILS
Miles for the march route: 1.7 miles of flat terrain. We expect the march from Civic Center to Justin Herman Plaza to be a 1.5 hour walk. Depending on where you are in the march line up, you may not leave Civic Center until 6pm, which may mean that you arrive at Justin Herman Plaza at 7:30pm. Be aware that you many need to be flexible in post march departure plans.
What Happens after the Women’s March: Please disburse at the end of the march at Justin Herman Plaza (Embarcadero). The ice rink will still be present at Justin Herman Plaza, so plan to go home from there. No official event is planned for the end of the march, though some marchers are planning “after parties” and post march gatherings. We suggest that you search the web or FB to connect with these events, or create your own.
Portable toilets will be located on the corner of McCallister and Larkin St. Wheelchairs are suggested to travel up Hyde St. behind the Asian Art Museum and left along McCallister to access Disability Toilets.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE EVENT?
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Please plan according to the weather conditions. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen.
Seating: No seating is provided. The rally will be from 3-5pm. If you have trouble standing for long periods of time, we recommend bringing a lightweight, portable stool.
Mobility Issues: We are providing 3 trolleys to allow mobility impaired marchers to lead our march down Market St. You must be able to access the trolley without a lift and sit in a seat. Sorry, no wheelchairs on the trolley. Trolley service is FREE. Space is limited. Sign up for a seat on one of our mobility trolleys below:
Mobility Trolleys will drop off passengers near the Embarcadero BART and MUNI stations at the end of Market St. There will be no return trip to Civic Center so plan accordingly.
SOLD OUT! - Our free mobility trolleys are “sold out.” Feel free to register on our waitlist, as weather or other issues may create cancellations on the day of the event.
Hearing Impaired: American Sign Language volunteers will interpret at our rally. Please come to the Accessibility Area directly in front of the stage if you need to see our ASL volunteers. No seating will be provided. You may bring a small portable stool. Enter the Accessibility Area on Hyde St @ Fulton, behind the SF Public Library.
Medical/First Aid: The first aid station will be located on the corner of Larkin Street & Grove street on the Civic Center Plaza. EMTs will be on site and will be available during the March. An ambulance will be on site as well.
Wheelchair Access and March Participation: We welcome our wheeled marchers to our rally and march. For our 3-5pm rally, please enter our Accessibility Area at the front of our stage on Hyde St. @ Fulton behind the SF Public Library. Wheelchairs may join the march behind our mobility trolleys, at the corner of Hyde and Grove St. Volunteers in the Accessibility area will help direct the line up. Please plan to leave the rally early to allow yourself time to position at the corner of Hyde and Grove. If you are comfortable moving your wheelchair or support vehicle with the main crowd, we welcome you to follow the flow of marchers away from the stage onto Larkin St, along Civic Center.
Leaving the March/Getting Home: Marchers can leave the march route at any time. There are many MUNI and BART stations along Market St, if you get tired. We will disburse at Justin Herman Plaza, across from the Ferry Building. An 8:40pm ferry has been added to Larkspur, see below:
CHARTERED BUSES: Buses will be dropping passengers off at the Civic Center. Buses will be staged along the Embarcadero. If you took a chartered bus to the event, please be sure that you have the bus number or other identifying information so that you can find your bus in the staging area at Embarcadero.
Drop off and Pick Up: DO NOT DROP OFF AT CIVIC CENTER OR PICK UP AT EMBARCADERO! Plan to be dropped off a many blocks away and walk. There is another event, the “West Coast Walk for Life” happening earlier in the day. They will be clearing Civic Center at 2:30. They march up Market St from 1:30 to 3, so expect Market St. to be closed. Plan to be picked up blocks away from the Embarcadero. Buses will be staging there and 30,000 people will be disbursing, so plan a pick up location that is not near Embarcadero after the march.
Friday, January 20 at 5 p.m.
